Restaurant Host/Hostess

Summary The Host/Hostess reports to and is under the direction of the Dining Room Supervisors.
The person in this position will be responsible for proper set-up of dining rooms, service, and breakdown of dining rooms.
They provide great hospitality throughout service to include greeting members with a smile, working efficiently and assuring that the tasks that they are assigned are executed to the best of his / her ability.
Hostess Job
Responsibilities:
Complies with the club's policies and procedures as established in the employee handbook and uniform handbook.
Performs related dining room set up tasks Cleans all assigned work areas.
Assists in closing functions by performing various tasks such as removing linen, busing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc.
and re-setting the room.
Attends staff meetings including pre-service sessions.
Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner.
Ascertains their dining needs.
Consistently follows all sanitation-related requirements, including those related to personal hygiene.
Do their best to greet by name all members and their guests, always by smiling and making eye contact.
Possesses a professional behavior and appearance at all times.
Held responsible for working all major club events to include Mother's Day, Easter, Club Fireworks Event, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Seats guests and manage the seating chart.
Monitors restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow.
Responds to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
Performs opening and closing duties, as needed.
Assists others with side work including, but not limited to cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.
Helps fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships.
Thank members and guests as they leave the club.
Hostess Qualifications / Skills:
Verbal Communication Customer Service Resolving Conflict Teamwork Energy Level Thoroughness Professionalism Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
High school diploma Prior club or restaurant experience preferred but not required Position Qualifications and Functional SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Furthermore, he/she should possess the following personal and professional characteristics:
Must have good communication skills including understanding and speaking English Able to meet the physical demands and responsibilities of the position.
He/she will, while regularly performing the essential functions of the job, be standing, sitting and lifting/moving items or objects over 20 pounds and sometimes lift/move items up to 35 pounds.
